Megan's Law
Megan's Law is named after Megan Kanka, a
New Jersey girl who was raped and killed at age seven by a
known child molester who had moved across the street from
the Kanka family without their knowledge. In the wake of the
tragedy, the Kankas sought to have local communities warned
about sex offenders in the area and on May 17, 1996, President
Clinton signed Megan's Law.
The Directory of Law Firms was
created to act as a resource for people wishing to easily
and efficiently find lawyers and attorneys in the United States.
This site contains links not only to lawyers, attorneys, and
law firms, but also to legal research resources because as
a consumer it is helpful to be able to educate yourself on
various aspects of the law. We are not, however, a site offering
legal advice or counsel. All of the information provided on
The Directory of Law Firms is for personal research purposes,
only.
